Final, thirteenth episode of the Midwifery Hour, series 7, Sue Macdonald, Midwifery Expert, Mayes Midwifery was joined by Charlotte Phillips, Senior Lecturer, University of Staffordshire and Helen Elliott-Mainwaring, Lecturer in Midwifery, University of Leicester.
This session looked at cutting-edge research work into the influences of power and hierarchy on staff safety and wellbeing; the underpinning problems of psychological vulnerability creating cultural challenges to staff safety; and poor working conditions creating workplace adversity.
We consider different evidence-based strategies which may improve outcomes for staff, patients, and wider communities of practice, because the patient and staff experience of healthcare are intrinsically linked.
